I have found some notes that are all numbered #8894, stating on each of them:

The Bank - United States
Promises to pay to J.W. Fairman
or (could be "on") order One Thousand Dollars
in New York, Philadelphia, December 15, 1840

signed by:
A Hardney  Cash  C.J. Dunlapp President
Draper Toppin Longacre Philadephia & New York

Does anyone know anything about these notes???

Thanks!  Kathy
