i need to remove my dashboard from my 1990 pontiac grandprix...

i need to remove my dashboard from my 1990 pontiac grandprix to get to the wire harness that melted due to a faulty brake switch ..the switch is gone melted ..about 10 to 15 wires melted together i need to get to those wires to rewire them ...i allready hardwired 16 wires underneath the sterring colume i believe the componant i wired was a module that controls all gas ,ingnition,gauges etc..the car is now running but still need to rewire the open wires ubove the steering colume ...i cant get to them without taking off the dashboard ....most of the dash is apart but...i need to get behind the dash to the interior fire wall ubove the steering knukle ..before interior firewall so i can cut and rewire the exsisting hareness back to normal ....the cost for this job was between $1500.00 to $2000.00 ...i am almost there....so please if anyone can be of any assistence i would appreciate knowlege ....also i would like to add that i have some knowlege in the automotive myself i guess you can say i watched and learned and gained alot ...no one has worked on my cars in about 30yrs sooo i do have abit to share ....i just never had a fire in electrical hareness of my cars ....thanxs for taking the time to read this question
