i have used starbright ink "black magic" and got really dark tribal so try that,
But if you going to get tribal look at the artists pics and if you can see some healed tattoos because its not just the ink its also the artiest and a fresh tattoo looks good but can lighten after it heals

personally I like to use black majic as well.  It seemes to go in easy with a bit of mess but it really works great the disapointing part of it is that it has offically sold out and the maker is not making it any longer.  as for the talens I have never tried it so I really would not know about the results of such.

all black ink works, good client aftercare (no picking ,no special products)and a follow up session that the client will pay for, is the only way to get that rich ,smooth tribal black you are looking for

Black Magic is dangerous ink. It goes in black, but it spreads out under the skin after the tattoo heals. It also lightens up after a year to a gray black color. Kuro Sumi is the blackest of inks. It stays black forever; however, it has a tendency to spread out under the skin, too. I cant figure out why. I have tried running it both shallow and deep with the same results: slight blow-out under the skin for some unknown reason.

If the tattooer is good, it doesn't matter what kind of black he or she uses.

The only diffrence between the different types of Black filler ink is how easy it is to use by the tattooer.
If he or she doesn't know what they're doing, it's going to suck no matter what type of ink they used.

I've seen tribal filled in with talons brand liner ink that is solid as anything done with "black magic" or "tribal black" by starbrite (Both good inks by the way).

So the key to getting a SOLID , CLEAN tribal is first and formost picking an artist who knows what they are doing.
