I just replaced the timing belt in my 1993 chevy lumina 3.4....

I just replaced the timing belt in my 1993 chevy lumina 3.4. It now idles at about 3,000 rpm and surges. I went off chiltons line up specs but I was not completely clear on the crank line up. I used a mark in the front cover that put the harmonic balancer at about 1 o clock. Any suggestions?
