I've tended to find that a reasonable deal can be achieved when procuring a tortoise from a reputable terrapin auctioneers or bespoke 2nd hand turtle warehouse.

at buyatortoise.com, i have had a Hermanns tortoise from here, they are approximately �140 without the vivarium, but with free fast delivery it's a really good service! We are currently looking into getting a friend for our tortoise from the same website!!! Enjoy your tortoise!!!
