I have a 7 month old female chihuahua who has never been in grass other than on walks when she will randomly walk in grass *but is usually on the sidewalk.  We do not have grass so when she is in our yard it is just dirt since we are under construction.  Tonight I took my chi to a neighbors and she played with their dogs in their grassy backyard for about an hour.  I noticed that her belly is bright red.......I gave her a shower and washed her belly well, but gently.  Is there something I can do?  Possibly give her benedryl *which a vet suggested to give her before shots to avoid reactions.  Please let me know.
