i have a 12 week old great dane...he does not have worms or anything like that and has been to the vet for his current updates...the problem that i have is that i believe him to be too skinny...the vet said that it could be his growth spurts...he is about 17-18 tall from the ground to his back averaging about an 1"-1.25" a week...and weighs almost like 34 lbs...what is a danes weight usually at at this stage...you can still see some ribs and some hip bones...the vet said that was fine alos...is that normal for the dane...the vet said becuase of his growth spurts that we could probably up his daily food...he is already up to 4 cups a day...and then he just graises on that...he is on a top quality dog food...of lamb with no soy products...and lower protien...(basically an adult, almost senior food...)the breeder reccomended it and also the vet said that that should be good too...if anyone can help me out...that would be great...
