I have a used 1997 GMC Chevy sierra.  The fuel pump was whistling so I had it replaced along with fuel filter.  It ran good for two weeks.  It got too hard for the long bed chevy to climb the hill in the community.  It lost power.  So I return to the private mechanic to check again figuring the Auto parts sales checker Auto might have sold the wrong parts.  Mechanic checked 3 times.  Now the truck idles High than low -  sounding like it will turn off.  After awhile it gets better - it idles better.  When I put it in gear and start driving it takes awhile for the truck to finally drive smoothly.  When I get going to drive on the highway it runs like your running out of gas so it jerks and acts like its choking.  After it passes that phase it runs smoothly.  I park for a few seconds the routine continues the same way throughout the day.  What is wrong with this truck.  Help!
