What is everyone's thoughts on vaccinations for Great Danes? I have an 11 week old Dane puppy and am following the 7, 9, 12, 15 week vaccination schedule (recommended by our vet). Is this too much? I've been doing some research on vaccinations and have read in several places that great Danes are more susceptible to vaccination-acquired conditions than other breeds (according to one article, many common skin problems, thyroid conditions, etc. are associated with excessive vaccination during puppy-hood). In addition, some studies suggest that repeat booster shots do more harm than good. What type of vaccinations did you get for your Dane puppy? I wonder if booster shots are really needed yearly? I'd appreciate any info you might have. Also, anyone know of current literature on vaccinations?
