I have a really nice '93 Plymouth Sundance Goldduster that I'd like to keep on restoring.  I'm having a problem with the transmission not always changing gears properly.  Sometimes it runs great, then other times it will keep revving until I think the motor is going to blow, but it won't go into the next gear.  A mechanic told me it might be the modulator valve or a shift sensor.  I've changed the fluid twice to no avail so I'm wanting to venture forward on the project.  Is the modulator valve and/or shift sensor located inside the transmission or on the outside of the transmission?  How hard are they to change and do I need a transmission expert to do them for me?
