I have a 7 year old female cat who has always had a problem peeing on rubber backed rugs, but she has now started pooping in the house as well.  It started in a corner of the living room and she now poops on the kitchen throw rug or just on the floor if the rug is gone.  This is also her favorite rug to pee on.  Any ideas as to why?  We have another 7 year old male cat...they've grown up together, and 2 dogs were added with marriage 4 years ago...this hasn't been a problem that we can see.
