I have inherited a mini dach and she is almost a year old. I have never had a female dog that has come into heat before. I was wondering how long she would be in the bloody discharge stage. Also, we have two other dogs, one and older female and the other a three year old male black lab. How long do I have to keep the male apart from her? Having a dog in heat is new to me and I am just wondering, because I also have a two year old in the house. If someone could respond, I would greatly appreciate it.
