I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. All 3 brake lights have gone out. The "3rd" light(on top of back shelf)went out first.  Then a few weeks (3 or 4) past and the 2 back braking lights went out. I have tail lights at night; I have turn signals; I have back-up lights.
I changed the bulbs for the "3rd" light and now it works. I changed the bulbs in both tail lights that would illuminate upon braking. The brake lights still don't work, however I still have tail lights at night etc. Why don't the brake lights work ?
I check the fuse box for what I thought were related fuses and they are OK. Does any one have a possible answer ? Please help !  Thanks
