I have a male 1-yr. old poodle who is a beautiful dog. He tried to breed with our female when he was just 6 months old, and she was 1. They did tie up at least 6 times, but no puppies. Now she is two and he is one, and he just can't seem to stay on her long enough to get tied up. This seems so odd because he was so accurate before. His legs are longer, but she weighs 7 lbs. and he weighs 11. I don't think it's a size issue, but why wouldn't he be able to mate this time since he's older, and more mature? I would think he'd be real good at it this time. He tries over and over, but they just don't tie up. What could be the problem with this? We have orders for 4 puppies already.
Really Frustrated.

Dogs don't have to tie to get bred though it is encouraged. I don't know what to think about why he can't tie but don't be so sure it's not a size thing. He weighs half again what she weighs.
