I am using a proxy to interconnect an internal subnet (192.168.0.0->subnet mask: 255.255.255.0) to the LAN of the University to provide Internet access to the internal subnet. The machine where the proxy is running has two network interface cards: one (192.168.0.1) connected to the internal subnet and the other (172.16.2.105) connected to the LAN of the University. When a client in the internal subnet makes a HTTP request and the corresponding HTTP response arrives to the 172.16.2.105 interfaces, the IP datagram containing it has correct values in all of its fields, but when the same datagram arrives to the 192.168.0.1 interface (i mean, when it has passed through the proxy), it has a wrong value of 0 in its IP header checksum field and also, it has a wrong value in its TCP checksum field. Why does it happen? It seems like the proxy changes the correct values with wrong ones. Is it true? Help me, please.
