hi yes there is symptoms to a dog's pregnency
1 she will develope bigger breasts, and i dont think there is vomoting , well bye

dog create hard, errect nipples and they start to get fatter in about 30 days of thier pregnancy.

My dog's first pregnancy was easy to recognize.  Her stomach was bigger than normal and it was solid.  Her nipples were bigger and she laid around alot.  Hopefully this helps.

   My name is Sasha and I am 12 yrs. old and I think my dog is pregnant.she has a hard stomach which isn't normal and she had some kind of discharge with blood is that also a sign of pregnancy???

If your dog has a discharge of blood that means your dog is in heat...on her period...also if a dog is on their period then that means that they are NOT pregnant. my dog is pregnant and she has is getting really fat she used to way 12lbs ands now she weighs 20lbs is that normal ohh yeah she also is on day 50 help quickly please .

Hi, My names Dana, I have a Shih tzu. I'm pretty sure that my Dog's going to have puppies for the first time, But she isn't acting right! She is shaking like a leaf. When we let her out to pee and she comes back in from out side, she just shakes. The thing is, that she's warm all over. She shakes for about 20 mins, then will stop and fall asleep, and it starts all over again. Is this something that is normal? PLEASE HELP this worries me a lot!

hey, I've been trying to breed my 4 year old Pomeranian and I thought that she didn't get pregnant but her stomach is harder and fatter. It's been a month since I tried to breed her and she vomited for a week two weeks ago. Now I feel hard lumps in her stomach. I'm pretty sure that shes pregnant but is there a disease or something that might cause these lumps? Are there any ways of checking if she is pregnant without going to a vet? thanks

Hi,
   My dogs nipples are very big too. Her    stomach has been getting bigger and harder.I've also noticed that she has been digging lots of holes in corners and cozy spots. One last thin I have noticed is that she has gotten her period only once. Please help me out before it's too late!

HI, my next door neighbor's dog has been pregnent for 3 months. Yesteray and today she has been howling and crying. Is she in labor? Is it normal for dogs to have puppies at 3 months?

My dog has been pregnant 3 times, and this was her last pregnancy. Around day 50 your dog will become a little anxious, but she will not be able to do much.  By this day you should prepare a "nest" and warm place for these puppies. Make sure you have many blankets and towels handy so you can wipe off the goo and other discharge like substances.  These puppies will need to be wiped off also. Lastly , when you know your dog will be about to go into labor, squeeze each of her nipple to make sure the milk is accessible. If not be ready to tube feed the babes every 2 hours.

Hi my name is Tamara and I have a question reguarding my 10 month old dog... She continues to jump over the fence of our yard and im worried she might be pregnant due to that she has gone in heat already and has jumped over the yard fence and im wondering what are the signs and the symptoms of a dog being pregnant... Her nipples are hard and people say her abdomin is quite hard and she has finished her menstrual cycle last week ... so im wondering if it would be a possibility if she could be pregnant... and is it possible that she could have mated while being on her own after jumping over our yard fence... Is their that many dogs in the city that are loose ?? thank you

That's completely normal. My dog went from 35lbs to about 50. I've actually got a dog now that's pregnant, and she's due any time. :)

How can we tell if our dog is having a false pregnancy? The answer to the question is yes it is normal that your dog is gaining so many pounds. It's the puppy weight.

my dog was recently on heat and one morning i went out the back and she was seating down and another dog was behind her humping her this was a week ago her heat is over but her vulva is still swollen and her nipples are large and hard is she pregnant?please help!!

yes that is normal for your dog to gain weight but check with your vet to see how much weight and keep her in your view i will pray for her to have a good delivery

hi, my dog has been collecting all of her toys...even one's that she has never had any interest in. She puts them all in her doghouse....she won't play w/ them anymore...you can tell it's a motherly thing

Hi I'm16 years old and my dog is a mutt and she got pregnant by a black lab within 3 weeks she got extremely fat. She is about 12 years old and has never gotten pregnant until this year were very exited! I hope I helped out bye

I have a 4 pound pomeranian and she got off of her 1st heat about 2 months ago. She out of know where has gained alot of weight and her stomach is hard. I was told she is either pregnant or her body is maturing because she just got off of her 1st heat, however her nipples are bigger. Do small dogs bodies mature alot after their 1st heat?

Hey Sasha, Your dog isn't pregnant I'm 13 and I wanna be a veterinarian when I finish school so I know a lot about dogs and other animals, your dog is just having a doggy period after if her stomach is still hard it may mean that she is having a phantom pregnancy which means she will go into a sort of pregnancy but there won't be any pups just give her some small toys for a while to look after and she should nurse them, then after a little bit take them away and she should be back to normal!!!

help... i just got my yorkie and she was a breeder, the lady doesnt remember the last time she was in heat(she said it was too long ago) and she was in with her 'mate'. i have had her two weeks and she weighed 7 lbs when i got her. now she is 8 1/2. she is suppost to be 5 lbs. her tummy is super hard, she is panting and her underside is damp. she started nesting/ digging. and all she does is sleep. is she pregnant?? help..

If your dog is on day 50 after mating and she has gained eight pounds then yes she is most likely pregnant.

When you palpate the abdomen to feel the puppies where exactly do you push on the stomach.  Is it under the ribs, right by the ribs, or is it further down.  Also how will I know if it is a puppy that I am feeling?

My dogs nipples have gotten very large. Her breasts have enlarged quiet a bit.  I believe she has grown in the stomach area but its a little hard to tell because I am with my dog everyday.  If I was away for a little I might be able to tell whether her stomach has grown or not.  I don't know if she is eating more because she has always loved her food.  She does seem to go to the bathroom a little more often though.  She got out of the fence sometime in June so I don't know if a male dog  mated with her or not. But my dog has a lot of signs of pregnancy.  How can I truly tell if she is pregnant and how can I estimate how far along she is if I don't know when she mated?

My dog is pregnant and today is her 55 day and she is acting unusual she has been pregnant before and she is acting like she does when it is time.There was a string of  mucus and clear liquid. Does this mean she will have her puppies today.

Well, the dogs tend to lose their appitite, so they could be the answer in all the wegith loss. But if the wait continues to go down really fast, contact your vet.

Hi, I have a small dog about 7lbs before becoming pregnant.. She is now 17 lbs. The poor thing can hardly move. She was mated with another small dog. She has 9 very large nipples and she has been leaking alot of fluid.. I mated her on the week of July 17-23. She has a while to go yet I think.. Can anyone tell me if all of her signs are normal? Anything would be appreciated..

my dog has grown a lot and her nipples grew she pee's more than often and i saw her running around with a big brown dog and i was wandering if she needs a c-section because my dog is small and my dog had mated with a big and the puppies might come out big

Hey, my dog has had seveal false pregancies, but this time i am pretty sure that she is pregant because you can actually feel the puppies in there. I was just wandering if there was any way to tell how long it will be before she has them, I know it is like 63days but is there any symptom that i can look for so that she is not at home alone.

hi my name is Charlotte and i am also 12 years old. My family is really confused as i have a 3 year old border collie and it escaped one day and it was missing for one hour and it was on heat. My dog Princess seems to be pregnant. She's a mini schnauzer and we also have the male. When she was in heat we tryed to keep them separated but I guess they found some privacy at one point or another. Princess' boobies are swallen and her belly is bigger. She's been down for 3 days, unusual on her cause she's only 9 months and very hyper. She's been vomiting a lot, like 3 times a day. She is not being herself, I'm going to take her to the vet hoping is a normal pregnancy considering her age. I hope everything goes well. I haven't taken her to the vet yet because of hurricane Wilma, we just got power today and everything is closed. does anyone know about young pregnancies?

Hi, I have a question that maybe someone with experience can help it would be greatly appreciated, I have 2 pure bred chiauhuhas My female is 2 yrs old an would not mate for anything, finally on oct 18th it happened I have been trying for a month now to see any signs of pregnancy, she has gained alot of weight, been drinking alot of water, her nipples just this week have gotten larger, but she has been very timid with me an grown more affectionate with my husband (which is odd cuz she was always with me) I try to feel her tummy for anything  an either im not looking in the right spot or she just won't let me touch it. are there any other signs I should be looking for ? please help im so confused, an im a mother of 4 .. haha figure that out

yes abby it is very normal for the dogs to gain that amount of weight.you should start to be able to feel movement from puppies and you can hear their heart beats. if your dog is small you need to make sure the daddy is small to if you dont know the daddy than you need to make sure the puppies are not to big for her to have .once they get into the birth canal than its to late to do anything .

My siberian Husky who was in heat got out on thanksgiving day and our neighbor came over about four days later to tell us that a golden retriever mounted her. She was in heat for approx. 2 weeks.  She has not shown any signs thus far except she has had blood seeping out of her nipples. what does this mean?

if your dog's nipple is getting bigger and she is not active, she is probably pregnant. It would be better to take your dog to the veterinarian and have her checked out. The cost should not be too much.

Dear Someone, My dog is dripping blood and licking it up. She has been showing all the signs of being pregnant, but people tell me that if she is dripping blood she 's not pregnant! So is she pregnant or not?

But I have noticed some symptoms of pregnancy and noticed a bump near her vaginal area, and I want to know does that have to do anything with being pregnant, or is it something else that I should be concerned about? My dog Saddie has enlarged nipples, she ran away about December 10, 2005 and returned around the 2nd of January, 2006.  Since, I have noticed her nipples are enlarged.  Is she going through the "false pregnancy" or is she pregnant?

I have a question.  I wanted to breed my little Bichon doggie, so we did 22 days ago.  Her breasts are a little swollen now.  They aren't really big, just instead of being against her belly, now they are round & swollen about the size of quarters under her nipples.  Is it too soon to tell if she's pregnant by her swollen breasts.  Please tell me what you think.

As long as she is well fed and well kept she will be fine you will know by day 63-69 lol.I would get a vet to look at her and also keep her on a lead for the next while and indoors if she goes into heat.

Hey, I think my dog is pregnant, She was on heat a week ago and that was when she was with the male dog. Now she has stopped very early is this a form of pregnancy also her nipples are getting very fat and her stomach is quite hard and very big compared to normal, she has also been very tired lately and is sleeping a lot. hi i think my dog is pregnant but am not certain she is getting bigger and some watery milky stuff comes out of her nipples if they are gently sqeezed tho they are not overly big they are rater loose when she is standing up also she is being kinda clingy and crying at you then all of the sudden she won't come out of her dog house also her stomache is becoming quite firm if some one could help me it would be appreciated thank you bye

Ayesha, I think your wrong about a dog being in heat means that hey are not pregnant. I've heard different. I heard that people who have their periods can not have a baby, and I heard that dogs in their period can get pregnant, and I think I'm going to agree with the person who said dogs who are in heat are pregnant, because he is older than twelve. Much older than 12. Sexually mature female dogs have an estrus cycle or heat...that period of time when they ovulate, are receptive to male dogs, and can get pregnant...every 4-12 months. The average is every 7 months, but it's quite variable.

Ayesha, I suggest you not give out any information if you are not sure and you've just given someone a wrong piece of information and when their not expecting puppies, their going to come and the people you gave that bit of information to won't be ready for the puppies. Hi I think my dog's pregnant. Her boobs are hard and her stomach is starting to bulge.We've only had her for one week and we dont know about her previous owners. We know that shes about 8 months old and shes had her heat cycle. She hasent been eating much, and we dont know where shes been peeing. Shes been nesting daily.If you have any advice please post it for me because we dont want to spend money on an ultra sound or pregnancy test if shes not pregnant. PLEASE HELP!!!

I have a Female Boxer who is 1 yr and 7 months.  She had her first period in April.  Just recently I noticed she has lost her appetite, she is constipated, she is wining alot, she is digging around alot lately; on my bed, my couch, her dog house as if she is looking for something, I have to stop her from digging.  She is laying around more, constantly licking her stomach, which is not hard or anything, but most import I noticed her nipples are getting bigger and producing MILK... aaah.  Weird thing is, we have not put her around any male dogs.  When she is out in the yard she is fenced in and the most she is out in the yard by herself is like 15 minutes...  What's wrong with her?  Thanks.

Hi, I'm Belinda (bell)and I couldn't find the questions so I'm putting it in here:

I think my dog is pregnant, her stomach is hard, her nipples have grown harder and she is a lot more lazy. What i would like to know is if a dry nose is a symptom of pregnancy? and if there are any other things I can watch out for to make sure shes pregnant?

my name is micki and i think my dog is pregnant these are some reasons why....
like i got back, took her for a little walk usually she has like 4-6 pees and 1 pooh ( sometimes) and she had 1 pee. and fell on the ground and started moaning like she was having a puppy. and then i carried her  home, she weighs about 10 pounds more then she did before. and she usually come RUNNING  for the door when somone comes and i came and she was sleeping in my moms closet like she was making a nest for her babies and when i took her home she walk right up the stairs and was trying to open the door to my mom and dads bedroom ( where her nest is) and was trying to open the door.

Hello i think that my dog is pregnant, her stomach is getting a little bigger, and harder then it used to be.Also her nipples i have been noticing have been have been getting bigger when i rub her stomach and there starting to go down a little. She also has been laying down a lot and breathing like she needs water, but i give her plenty of water and food.Thats all i have been noticing about her.

My dog is due to come on heat and her stomache is becoming larger and nipples contain milk. Could she possibly have become pregnant just before she came on heat or is this just hormones producing these symptons?

I found a dog roaming the neighborhood and she kind of attached herself to my family. My mom and I think she's pregnancy, but aren't sure. Are there any signs that GUARENTEE pregnancy? Also, we have 2 male dogs, 1 is about 1 1/2 and the other is about 13 weeks... will they be okay with her?

My dog went to Texas with my mom,and my mom said that she mated with another dog.that was about two weeks ago,Know she has alot of discharge,getting a little bigger and her nipples are a little harder does that mean she is pregnant.

Hi my name is Jamacia, i have a young 8 month old pitbull, and she has been in heat twice and now her nipples are starting to sorta pop out and she is being protective of me towards our other guy dogs?? I think she has mated with my dog Blaze an Akita, he's huge, but I really want to know if she is pregnant!!!! She is lazy now too.. I'm thinking she is but if she's not my mom is going to fix her!! I think my dog is pregnant. Her teats are getting bigger. And shes acting differently! She got out of the house and I caught her once mating and then she got out again. hello, i have a dog who has been lost for 10 days at the month of november and was found the day after thanksgiving of 2006. We searched for my dog everywhere but it wasn't to be near, until my friend found my dog and thought it was a wolf. my dog was reallly bony and skinny. so she called us and we took it home. but my friend also said she saw another dog with it. Today is janurary 20th and my dogs stomach is getting bigger and has some discharge of milk. she is napping most of the day and doesn't want to play. i cannot take her to the vet to checkup because it costs too much. do you think this a pregnancy or false pregnancy? i hope you can help on this internet site.

Hi everyone, I have an 8-month old puppy who has started to act strange lately, and I think she might be pregnant.  She's normally very loving but lately she wants to be alone, she acts very tired, as if it drains her to move at all.  She's not eating much and she was throwing up the other day.  What do you think?

My female came in to heat and i put the male with her. there were together for about 5 minutes and all night. now they don't want nothing to do with each other. does that mean she got pregnant cause she don't want to be around the boy no more.      thank tami

hi my name is keesha and my dog who is a little older than 1 year has been getting bigger and bigger, her nipples are getting much larger and I dont know what to do. My family saw a loose German Shepard on her but she usually stays around the male lab that we have that is around the same age. The young male lab doesn't seem mature enough to impregnate her so we don't know when she'll be due, how much into her pregnancy she is or who the father is but we need help to know what we should do! Thank you and if you have any information at all then please feel free to share as i have never been around a pregnant dog!

I dont know if my dog is pregnant she was last on heat about 2 months ago, and i think her nipples are bigger (they have always been quite big other peoples opinion)
She is also geting lazy not wanting to go for a walk and vomiting she also keeps wining you cant leave her side as she crys. she becomeing more like a lap dog which is strange as she is not one to ciddle up to any one.very inderpendant

My Chocolate Lab Cocoa is starting to act weird.  I know that mood swings and stuff like that are signs of pregnancy in humans, so maybe they are in dogs, too.  She is getting tired easier, digging nests and lying around a lot more than she used to.  Her teats are usually always big, but now they are huge.  Her appietite has changed.  I also noticed that she was in heat not long ago, and she's been going up to the neighbor's house where they have an old Border Collie called Hobo.  Now we might be having HoboCocoas!  Oh, lord help me!

Yes there is vomiting. She will get rounder and her stomach will became harder. when there is blood discharge that means they are in heat not pregnant. Well I hope that helps!! ; )

My dog has enlarged nipples and is laying in the same spot. (It is a warm and cozy spot) She also is losing her appetite.  She is really lazy. She was in heat and could of possibly gotten out.  Is this a sing of pregnancy.  Oh, I don't know when she was in heat.  Is she pregnant or not.  HELP

sighns of pregnacy are quickly to detect .when the female is n labor you'll noice her toung will be out n shell be grinding her teeht iv acknowleged that in all 3 of my dogs pregnacy

hi, my dog had her period and was on heat, as me and my family went on a holiday. We had friends checking the her and feeding her. When we got back we found that she had escaped and had been wandering around the street for more than 16 hours we have put a padlock on the gate now and everything is alright, but i think she might be pregnant. She had finished her period a few days before she had escaped but still has swollen privates. And since yesterday she has had errect nipples. Is she pregnant???
