hi. i had a surgery to get my appendix out about 6 months...

hi. i had a surgery to get my appendix out about 6 months ago. and now i have all this hard scar tissue where i wanted to get my belly button pierced. So i went to a piercing place and they turned me away because they thought it was muscle and if i got it pierced it might rip out and i might have two flaps of skin over my belly button where it might b ripped out. But since it is scar tissue would it do the same thing?
