Tonight, August 30, 2003 I saw something fall out of the sky around 10:25pm.  I was traveling North on Interstate 5 near Lynnwood, WA (North of Seattle, WA)and something bright and white appeared to fall out of the sky directly straight to earth (directly to the horizon - I did not see it land though, trees were in the way).  This was in the North to Northeast sky and I am just curious if this was a meteor or a falling star or an airplane that may have crashed.  I did not see or hear any reports on the news and I was not sure who to ask.  Any information that you may give me is very appreciated.  Thank you.

Hi, We saw it too!. My sister saw it in the north sky, but I was not looking directly at it,  I did see the remnant of a bright flash out of the corner of my eye, but by the time I looked, there was a long sparkly tail which lasted for about 10 seconds.  I am looking for the answer as well.  However, when I was a kid, I saw something similar to this and an astromony professor said that it was probably space junk reentering the earth's atmosphere.  That is about as close an answer at I ever got.

I, too saw the comet/asteroid/meteor/whatever the craziness was.  I have never seen anything like it before.  I was at a wedding in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada that night and i stepped outside for some air.  Then i saw it appear trail through the sky with a long sparkly tail then disappear or extinguish.  It blew my mind as i have never seen anything like it before.  it was so big and bright and amazing.  i was awestruck for about 10 minutes after that.  i even had dreams about it that night.  Someone told me that it could've been a satellite but i don't want to believe that.  i want it to be "space junk".

I didn't see that, but years ago I saw a star in the sky that peaked my interest. Moments later it fell straight to the horizon without any trail at a constant and rather quick speed.  Wish I had an answer for yours and mine!

I saw a falling comet, star or asteroid yellow, with a long think golden tail tonight, July 20, 2006 at 10pm est.  Must be what you all saw a few years ago.  I had asked a question out loud and this amazing thing seemed to be an answer.
