I HAVE A 1994 DODGE CONCORDE AND WHEN I GO TO LOCK THE DOOR...

I HAVE A 1994 DODGE CONCORDE AND WHEN I GO TO LOCK THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE THE ALARM IS SET.  BUT WHEN I UNLOCK THE DOOR USING MY KEY ONLY, THE ALARM GOES OFF, I AM NOT ABLE TO START THE CAR AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT I DID WRONG.  IS THERE A CERTAIN WAY I HAVE TO TURN MY KEY FROM THE OUTSIDE TO MAKE SURE THE ALARM GOES ON/OFF WHEN I WANT IT TOO?
