I have a 1999 Dodge Caravan, 4 cylinder. The thermostat control in side the dash console has broken off about 3 years ago and really the only way to control the temp inside the van was to stick something small in the slot on the dashboard slot where the button goes and manually adjust the temp yourself.  The slot looks like about 2 to 3 inches long. you have to get a flash light to look down into it.  I have taken the console off, to see  how much to replace. very expensive!!!  They don't just sell the part, only the whole console.  When I took it out I noticed there were factory plugs where the console connect to.  Does anyone know which pins control the thermostat in the console?  I think I can jump the setting with an off model therm controller.  I starting to get cold outside and I will be up the creek without a paddle if I don't get t his fixed soon.
