I am new to this BB, but I tried posting just a minute ago.

Anyway, I have a 6 month old male long-haired chihuahua and these days, when he's excited (when mommy comes home or when I come home, or when he's excited about eating, etc.), he becomes short of breath.

It sounds like he's trying to get air into his lungs through his nose and I hear some congestion, he sound stuffed up. But I never see any nasal discharge or anything else. But after he's done hacking or wheezing - I don't even know what to call it! - it looks like he tries to swallow.

Can anyone help? Thanks!
