whats is the miture of dogs that make great danes

All that I have read says that the Great Dane was a breeding of the Irish Wolfhound and the English Mastif.  I don't think there are any facts to support this but if you look at the two you can see Great Dane.

I've heard that a great dane is a mixture of a greyhound and an english mastiff.

The bacis dog inside GREAT DANE is mastiff type dogs they have mixed with irish wolf hound for thier height and gry hound for the the speed and deep chest.The dane we know today is far more diffrent from thier original make up,they were hunting dogs (wildbores) and gaurd castles.Thanks to english people who refined the breed nad now the great danes are more well tempered.
