my sister's bassett hound just died. 6 years old. sudden, she was vomiting a little. then she bled from the vagina area and lost control of her bladder. she was weak and lost energy. she then turned yellow  jaundice eyes, skin.  vet said less than 50 percent survival chance. they said her liver was what caused this. is this unusual when 1 day before she was active? could she have been sick a long time and not known? is this common with liver problems?   thank you,  jackie

My bassett died 11/12/03...she was only 2 1/2 years old! She was very active and then during the afternoon and completely collapsed. We took her to the vet...emergency surgery and she died shortly after. He said it was her liver too!!!  If you find any information, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!
