I have a some 10,000 lines sequential code in C which I would like to parallelize using MPI. The problem is I use lots of functions in conjunction with the main program and I have to parallelize the code at the level of the function. I would like the function to know the process id and the number of processor without using it as an argument. for example if we use as an extern variable (but it did not help). I would be highly obliged if someone could suggest me a solution.
