I'm wiring a new circuit for a 220V electric baseboard...

I'm wiring a new circuit for a 220V electric baseboard heater. I think there are only 2 wires plus ground at the source but know I need three wires (black, red, white) to connect to the breaker panel. I also have to install a hard wire thermostat to the unit. Any suggestions on a wiring diagram for this install? Thanks
