While driving my 1998 Durango home last night on the HWY doing about 75 mph all the sudden the RPM gauge went way up like it shifted into overdrive I immediatlly let off the gas as soon as I saw the rpm gauge go up. Then the check engine light came on but when I pushed back down on the gas it was fine. I drove it the rest of the way home wich was about 80 miles and all was fine. When I finally got home I pushed the overdrive button in and it did nothing. Does anyone know what is wrong? I figure it is a sensor.
