I have a Dodge Caravan 1999 and when driving the oil light...

I have a Dodge Caravan 1999 and when driving the oil light will come on and I will have my foot on the gas and will not be able to go anywhere. The speedometer drops to zero and I have to coast to the side of the road.  oil has been recentley changed and all lights and radio stay running?
