If Bacardi and diet cola contain only 66 calories, why would it be differant for Vodka.  Their claim is zero carbs and zero sugar (a carb).

Vodka is fine.  Rum has sugars in it.  If you mixed your vodka with something, the "something" most likely had carbs.  Booze may suspend your Atkins weight loss, but it will immediately resume when your body burns off the vodka.

Try good vodka with Wal-mart's own exclusive brand of 0 carb, 0 sugar and 0 sodium "Clear American" sparkling flavored water, I like it with a squeeze of lime.  My favorite is the tropical pineapple, the cranberry, and the black cherry flavors for cocktail hour!!!
It is only 58 cents for 1 liter.

I believe the only vodka to have zero carbs is   (3) a  soy base vodka. As you all have mentioned previously most of your alcohal is very low in carbs and only contains 60 -70 calories per 1oz.

yep, drink up all the vodka you want, just make sure you're mixers are carb free.  Ex. Make sure to use diet tonic as regular has plenty of carbs surprisingly. (always read those labels)

I'd say vodka has carbs in it. I eat a low carb diet and I can taste the carbs in it now. It tastes sweet to me.

I trust my senses.

Even though Vodka doesn't contain any carbs it still contains calories.  Each gram of alcohol contains 7 calories, more in fact, than sugar.

The 66 calories are not from carbs.  Distilled alcohol (straight vodka, whiskey, rum, gin) contains acetates, which are metabolized in the same manner as fats.

Rum is distilled from sugar, but still has no carbs, as the sugar is converted to alcohol, eliminating the carbs.

Nutrient label for Rum:

http://www.nutrientfacts.com/searchfood.exe?var=5&form=Rum

This is how you can have calories, but no carbs, the same way as if you ate a piece of fat.  No carbs, but calories.
