I have a 2.0 non turbo Laser that runs like a top, no oil leaks, new timing belt etc.  I just bought it from an individual who appeared to take very good care of it.  This week, the check engine light has come on.  As it is a 1992 model, i cannot get a code reader that will fit it to see what the deal is.  Is there any common causes for this light to come on and stay on?  it will go off occasionally, but will stay on most of the time.  I had a 93 eclipse that had a temp sensor go bad in it, causing this light to come on, but it had many other symptoms as well, like not wanting to start correctly or at all etc.  This car seems to have nothing wrong.
