Where is the EGR valve located on a 96 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2 engine. I have looked everwhere on the engine and I can't find it. I know what egr valves are but on this engine I simply can't find it. I went to auto zone and had them pull one for this engine and it looks like an ordinary egr valve with the shiny round can top that bolts on. Is it possible for this year engine that they changed it to an electronic vacuum type. I found one plastic looking gizmo that could possibly be it. It has two vaccum lines that plug onto the bottom,  One line  runs to the front of the carb. It also has an electrical connector that plugs onto the top.I'm beginning to think they forgot to put one on my engine ! Thanks for your reply.
