My son is allergic to cats. I have heard that the Norwegian Forest Cat is hypoallergenic. Does anyone know if this is truth or rumor?

NOT TRUE. I have a Norwegian Forest Cat and I'm extremely allergic to him. In fact, prior to having a Norwegian Forest Cat, I had no cat allergy symptoms. I tried to convince myself it was something else, but then I started getting rashes every time I groomed him. However, Norwegians have amazing personalities. It's worth the suffering/
