It varys in dogs but I do alot of surfing on the net and experts say 58-66 days from the first day of mating. If it prolongs to 70 days call your vet immediately.

my  pure-bred dog ended up pregnant by a stray. After she has the pups and are bred by her own breed the next time. will these pups be truly pure bred? I've heard NOT!

I don't know where you heard this from. By the time she is ready to be bred again the sperm from the first dog will be gone. Maybe you heard that the pups can't have purebreds ever.

I Have a question. I have 2 dogs and were in heat around fathers day. I am not sure if they our pregnant. But there milk sacks have fallen in the lower back and you can milk a few small prods from them. could this mean they our pregnant. also when can they get pregnant in the 3 weeks they our in heat.

My dog is 55 days pregnant and ready to give birth. She started yesterday morning. She's nesting, pacing, panting, and peed blood once. Is this O.K.. how long does a dog's labor period last? Is 2 days too long?

I believe dogs are pregnant for 9weeks and to answer Dixies question . they can get pregnant anytime in the three weeks their in heat.. but only if they get it on with a male and males are always in heat or so u would call it i guess.

My 4 month old puppy I got from the pound might have impregnanted my mom's Boston Terrior in her first heat.  It's been almost 4 weeks now (The vet said come back at 4 weeks) and we're not sure if she's pregnant or not....How can you tell?

My one dog had puips about 11 wks ago and they started disappering do you think my dog is taking them off somewhere and leaving them. because the other day one showed back up at the house after 1 month and 1/2 but she seemed happy so i think someone is stealing them. I had 2 dogs, a boy Cocker Spaniel and a girl other breed. The boy died in sept. (rest his soul)and now I think the girl is pregnant. Is it too much to believe the puppies are his? Or has it been too long to be true?

I have a question, How many times does a dog have to mate to get pregnant? Does it only take once like it does with humans? And are there any signs as to know if they are pregnant? I know the two dogs were latched together, so does this mean that they accomplished the mission? :)

I think 9 weeks which could also be 3 months however you decide to look at it my dog we think got breed by and stray but not sure i was told that u can breed again and the dogs will be full blooded i guess i will know soon right.

well my dog has had one litter of puppies and they were from this hipper dog but now she is pregnant from the father of her first litters son well long story short she is pregnant from her x's son,a beagle/jack russle terrier well to awnser the q 2 months and a week or 63 days. around 30 days of pregnancy dring your dog to a vet for a check up on how many pups she'll be having or if she is really pregnant!!!!!! have a happy pregnancy to your dog from mine.

PLEASE consider spaying/neutering your animals. There is such an overpopulation of dogs and cats in this world, there simply arnt enough homes for all of them. For every human there are 15 dogs and 45 cats, its crazy! Every day thousands of animals are put to sleep at shelters all over. This is due to people not spaying and neutering their animals, even purebreds should be fixed. Please look into the statistics on this, im not lying. If you cant afford to fix your animals there are many low cost vets that will do the surgery at a much lower rate. Ask your veterinarian.

dogs are in heat for 21 days and they usually are mated on the 11th day of heat and they show signs of being pregnant at about 3-4 weeks, they are pregnant for 9 weeks and if she is producing milk yes she is either pregnant or having a false pregnancy! see a vet!

Ummmm about the bred by a stray dog, then breeding them with the same breed. NO they will not be pure breed it takes a lot of times with the same breed if you mate them with another breed.

Just because your dog has milk in her boobs doesnt meen that she is pregnant. My dog and my friends dog both had false pregnancies after their heats and you could squeaze milk out of them but the were not pregnant.

most females r pregnant , provided it took, 61-63 days after the 1st hook up.From my experience, u can c movement of the puppies around the last 2-3 weeks before she's due. when that time comes when she gets closer to her due date, her temp. will drop some right before she gets ready to have her babies, she will also start the digging mode, as to prepare the bedding for her babies too,she will not eat during this time, she will be pacing , panting,and u will be able to c the contractions before she has each one of them,it is truelly a beautiful thing to watch a new pup being born....dichihuahua

if u can tell a difference in your dogs weight shortly after she has been in heat id go to the vet. my dog is 7 weeks pregnant on friday and she has absolutely ballooned its incredible. if u can squeeze milk from the teats then she is definitely pregnant and alot further past 7 weeks because iv tried to see if milk comes thru on my rotty and it doesnt id go to the vet for an ultra sound about £40 english pounds that is

((HOW OLD DO STUD DOGS HAVE TO BE FOR THEM TO GET OTHER DOGS PREGNET?)) and my beagle is not the normal size for a beagle she is little she is the size of may be a little bigger then a pug or pugle..! so (Will she have trouble giving birth?) My dogs are Border Collies, Baliey and Layla, Layla had puppies last year, she was pregnant for 8 weeks. Bailey is now pregnant.. and were hoping 8-9 weeks.

i would like to know my dog is a mature Aussie shepherd and she is in heat and she been is heat for 8 days a golden retriever  and i was worndering is the mother ( mature Aussie shepherd) could have baby with that size of a dog? help

i contacted my local veternarian office and our doctor dr steve told me and average length of a dogs pregancy is 65 days wich is acctually 2 months and 5 days my dogs pups will be born on july 4 of this year good luck to lilie and my family and her future family

Dogs are normally pregnant for 6-9weeks. Depending on what kind of dog it is, how many pups are there, and the health concerns with your dog. Pregnancy for a dog is very different from a human though, so watch your dog closely. Their personalities can change while their pregnant, also they can become aggressive to whom their protecting.
