I have a 1987 dodge ramcharger.  The front caliper retaining clips were completely rusted away.  Bought a new set at the local auto parts and there are black rubber bands included with the new clips.  I have no idea what these are for and could not find any reference to them in my Internet searches.  Anyone have any idea?
