How does the client/server application testing differ from web-based testing

The difference lies in the type of test we carry out for both web and Client server applications.

Since the application is hosted on web, One must perform application compatibility,  Performance and Usability testing for Web applications in addition to functional testing.

Client server applications may not need to under go above testings since these applications are hosted in a controlled environment and there may be very few users of the application.Sometimes we may need to do Performance testing for C-S applications.
