THE FIRST SYMPTOM WAS WHEN MY BOSTON TERRIER STARTED RUBBING HER REAR QUARTER AFTER EACH DEFACATION AND URINATION. THE OBVIOUS, IMPACTED ANAL GLANDS AND INFECTION WAS CHECKED AND FOUND NOT TO BE THE PROBLEM.
AFTER WATCHING HER DO THIS RUBBING FOR TWO MORE WEEKS I REALIZED SHE DID IT EVEN AFTER JUST URINATION. I TOOK HER BACK TO THE VET AND FOUND SHE HAD A URINARY TRACT INFECTION, IN ADVANCED STAGES.

MY QUESTION IS COULD THIS INFECTION HAVE BEEN FESTERING FOR AS LONG AS HERE WEEKS PRIOR TO THE TIME OF DIAGNOSIS.
