how did Disney acquire the plot of land in Marne la Vallee to construct the theme parks and hotels?

Chris, just a quick link to an excellent page which gives a brief history of the whole DLP Resort. It explains a bit about the land. I know from other sources that sites were considered in England and Spain, but France was picked because it was available, large enough, cheap, and centrally located in Europe.
