Will good ventilation and lubrication extend the life of an electric motor. The reason that I am asking is because I have a tape recorder that has a Hysteresis Synchronous motorwhich is enclosed into the tape recorder's cabinet which has what I believe, very poor ventilation. I cut a large, rectangular hole in the tape recorder's back panel and then I fastened a piece of wiremesh over the cutout. Since doing this, I noticed that the cabinet of the tape recorder is alot cooler and the motor seems cooler to the touch. Will this extend the life of the motor? I have also removed the motor's sleeve bearings and installed Radial Roller bearings in their place. Please let me know your opinion on what I have done.alot
