I would like to clear my NVRAM on my Dell Desktop 8300. I have gone into system setup but there is no option there, so i am looking into finding some kind of advanced system setup a.k.a maintenance mode, where i will be able to reset the configuration data/boot configuration. I have tried finding a configuration jumper to remove, but i can only find a password jumper. Does anyone know how to jumper the system board to maintenance mode as i believe this may help solve the problem below:

The problem i am having is that when playing a media file through any media player, once another application is running e.g Internet explorer, the track skips, you can see the time actually jump. (e.g 0.58 to 1.01) I have tried increasing the virtual memory maximum, but this has also not helped.

To clear the NVRAM, perform the following steps:

Restart your computer.

At the first text on the screen or at the Dell logo, press the <F2> key every three seconds until the message Entering Setup appears.
The System Setup screen appears.

Press the <Caps Lock> key, the <Scroll Lock> key, and the <Num Lock> key to light up all three lights on the keyboard.

Press the <Alt> and <E> keys at the same time.
The system will emit a beep tone to indicate that NVRAM has been cleared.

Press the <Esc> key, and then press the <Enter> key to save the changes and reboot the system.

Proceed with the installation or troubleshooting that you were attempting
