I have a 13 week old female chihuahua. I have had her for 3 weeks and have been with her most of the time settling her in and am half way there potty training her. However i have to go back to school soon and this will mean somedays when my mum is not home she will be alone for around 6 hours. I have a crate for her which she sleeps in at night near to my bed. However when i leave her in the crate and leave the room she cries really bad. She does settle down after a while as when we have gone out and come back we sneek in quietly and she is quiet. I was just wondering what other people do with thier chihuahuas and if they leave thiers alone during the day. Personally i think 6 hours is too long to be left in a crate but have read that it isnt, or would leaving her in a room with her crate etc be better? We cant leave her in the kitchen either because we have an older dog who isnt really used to her yet and doesnt want to play. i have read in threads to leave her in the bathroom, mine doesnt have tile floor and is not very big. Does anyone have any advice?
