My  8 yr dog has developed chronic itching and  his  anal area is black within the last six months, the vet says that he is not emptying his anal sack, and also said something about his glands. Is this something that can be corrected or is this something that will be a recurring problem for him.   He is miserable from the itching, it is hard to watch him suffer.
