Hi,

I am currently working on a project in which events on sockets are
received by XtAppMainloop function and corresponding callback function is
called (which is already registered to Xserver by XtAddinput function).
This all is done using MKS toolkit on Windows 2000 OS. As we are using MKS
as xt toolkit the sockets library we are using is also from MKS toolkit.

But now I want to use windows sockets to remove MKS dependency. (But I
know I have to be dependent on MKS for xt calls. I want to remove
dependency for socket system calls). So I have modified my code and
implemented windows socket calls using Ws2_32.dll socket library of
windows.

But when I use XtAppMainloop function to get events on that socket it
doesnt work properly. In runtime, it gives warning saying that select
function failed returing error 9. Or sometimes segmentation fault occurs
returning error code 139. I think xt function from MKS library doesnt
support windows sockets.

So is this a problem of Xt library? Is there any other way so that i can
remove MKS dependency wholy or partially (as I mentioned earlier)? Will
you please help me.

Hoping your kind co-opearation.

Thanks and regards,
Yogesh
