Chinese letters suck, get an original design instead. Its not original to get a cool looking scratch mark that means the same thing that everyone else has.

I have a Chinese symbol that means beer and its custom to me i had it colored red and white for Budweiser, so don't tell me its not original, and i can guarantee no one has the same tattoo even if its the same thing no tattoo artist wants a person to have the same tattoo

www.formosa-translation.com/chinese/s/ss188.html ... i stumbled across it today... i have the kanji symbol for beauty on my neck and i love it... its not cliche cuz it has meaning to me... im not a stupid girl who went oh thats pretty i want it... i picked it for a specific reason and i havent had one regret about... long story short... theres no such thing as a lame tattoo if it has "sentimental value" so to speak...

I have 5 chinese symbols and counting. I see why you wouldnt want something everyone has, but what makes it different for me is the meaning and the past and the reminder I see every day. something i dont want for everyone to know so chinese is an artful way for only me to know. and the meaning is what is important not neccesarily striving for something different.

Chinese symbols are easy to find:\
I don't know how you can't find them... and if you say that you don't want to pay money for a couple you don't have to! There are plenty of sites that give you them for free! If they don't have the symbol you want then you just click the right button on your mouse and save the picture... holy frig, lol
I have a symbol that means "crazy" on my ankle... (done in leaf writing) so i don't think anyone would have the same :\

well, I would avoid those FREE sites. If you need some symbol tattoo on your body for the rest of your life, why not invest some money to get the right one? If you search the internet, you will find a whole bunch of Chinese symbol design sites. I ordered "True Friendship" from www.char4u.com a few days ago. Those guys are native Chinese and their English is very good. You might want to check other sites too. Sorry, no experience to share.

If you guys need to find Chinese characters, try looking at www.zhongwen.com and searching for some. But make sure you consult a REAL CHINESE SPEAKER before you commit to a character. Just look at www.hanzismatter.com for tons of examples of botched characters. Don't think that Chinese is just symbols...it's a language and a writing system with subtleties like the English and the alphabet (imagine a tattoo of "loaf" instead of "love" written on some Chinese guy's neck.) and can easily be taken out of context and be ridiculous.

Ok, so, I am Master Chaffinch, King of masquerade and I'm sure you all agree that my peculiar designs are merely an expressionism of my soul. Being the fab designer that I am and always shall be I created this new look because, you know, ying yang is totally in right now and wearing anything that demonstrates either 50s retro or 70s disco can do nothing but haunt you in your unco-ordinative little life. So, two beautiful Chinese ladies came in to my salon a few weeks back and just told me that they'd seen my work in many magazines in China and that I had been voted the best gay designer in all of America. So, I made them some pretty unique frills to hang from their Prada shoes and now they're all the rage but unless you're willing to pay to the extreme, I wouldn't dream of hanging tinsel from your boot buckles like a certain ex-boyfriend did. Anyway, the best Chinese word right now is fabulous, you should have one tattooed around your navel, trust me honeys, you'll be fantastique!

Well, all you have to do is walk into a tattoo parlor and they have tons of chinese symbols and lettering.  Also, I have the "love" symbol with some tribal design around it - and am getting reading to get the chinese symbol for dog.  I love Chinese Cresteds - one of my favorite dogs - I have 3 so all my tattoos (4 so far) are dog related. :)

I have all your answers right here.  I'm from New Zealand but I live in Taiwan, I speak and with Chinese, I can also write Chinese calligraphy in many styles, if you have any question relating to Chinese, characters you can email me gcbarkernz@yahoo.co.nz, I'm very willing to help out for free.
By the way, there is no real "Chinese alphabet" so to speak.  Here in Taiwan, there are phonetic symbols that children learn as they're learning to read Chinese, they are only used in Taiwan, and it isn't very good from spelling English words (or names).  You can however put some Chinese characters together that when read would sound somewhat similar to your name.

Thanks to you that had found a site for us!! My sister and our best friends(sisters as well)and I, all went in together to get a Kanji symbol. We have Older sister and Younger sister. Let me tell you that none of them are the same. When you get them done by different artists. But it is the meaning of the tattoo that is what important.

I prefer the chinese symbols from www.transname.com

I have ordered a couple of times from them. I like them 'cos they have original handwritten grass style calligraphy and it looks great. It also makes sure what I have is unique and not some symbols everybody else have downloaded on the internet from some free site.

Thanks Amber for the site you posted! It really helped me out a lot! I don't think getting a Chinese symbol is cliche. I have the symbol for love tattooed on my left pelvis. It means a lot to me because I think love and faith are the two most important things in the world and they are the keys to happiness. I'm getting faith tattooed on my right pelvis and you can kiss my Puerto Rican @$$ if you don't like it HEY E.J. because all that matters is that I DO!
