The rheostat in my 1985 Volvo 240 DL (that controls the intensity of the light in my instrument panel) is fried. Do I need to get another one? Someone told me that you could straight-wire it, and another said that I can just get a toggle switch for it? I don't want to blow anything up. What's the most practical way to solve this problem.
