i have a 3 year old female saint (cleo) she had 11 puppies a year ago, we kept 1 female (maggie). cleo has always be a loving dog, but today she growled & went after her pup,  maggie is 100lb & has a soar foot, so we tried to carry her down the steps to the yard as i yelled at my son to slow down, cleo came running off the porch, & went after maggie, I had to pull her off, is that normal. Cleo is very protective of me & i was wondering if she thought maggie was hurting me, or will she get aggressive with maggie becouse she is getting close to going into heat? Please help
