How do i get top record in Sybase.
Iam not able to use
select top 10 * from mytable
go

select min(strName) from...

Set rowcount 10
select top 10 * from mytable

select * from table

Is pretty simple. Put this in a single sql statement:

set rowcount 10; select top 10 * from mytable

You can Use SET ROWCOUNT ##

Example:

SET ROWCOUNT 10

SELECT * FROM TABLE

This is the equivalent to

SELECT TOP 10 * FROM TABLE

SET ROWCOUNT 5
select * from table
order by field
SET ROWCOUNT 0

you can change the row count to the top you want... and don't forget to always finish the rowcount in 0, or all your queries will top in 5 or the quantity you put there.
