I have a one dollar bill and it has a star by the serial numbers.  Does it have any value, or does it mean anything?

Hi..the star indicates  that it is a replacement note that the note that it  replaces wasn't printed properly.Any collector value depends on type,series and most importantly is grade(condition).

Hi..star notes are replacement notes for notes that were incorrectly printed.They can have added collector value depending on series,denomination and most of all grade(condition).You can send me as scan front and back and I can tell you if it has any collector value.

I have heard that each 1 dollar is worth $1.25, and so forth with other bills. they are called star notes. I have about $38.00 worth trying to figure out exactly what they are worth. if you find out more please email me @ cargirl440@yahoo.com

This man I knew who collected money said that a star by the serial number on paper money indicates an error at the mint.
