In a fictional computer network, all the users are required to have a password from the Standard English characters, which are 26 characters. Some users decided to increase their password length from 8 characters to 12. Calculate the expected number of attempts required to discover the correct password in each case assuming that an intruder attempts to cracker the user password with a 50% chance of success.
