Actually there is no way to accurately measure the jaw strength of any breed . So for all we know a APBT could have the most powerful jaws or a Bull Mastiff or for that matter maybe even a Dogue.

Well, considering the A.P.B.T. was bred to hang onto a ring in a bull's nose while it got tossed around like a rag doll, not let go; and hang on until the bull got tired out, it's got to be damn close to the best if it isn't already.

I have an Akita an it is said that they actually have 7X the bite pressure of a pitt. Today I had a pit attack my akita and it wasn't a good scene.  I think it was just a dominance issue between the 2 males.  I do not blame the pitt as I think the owner should spend a little more time with gentle, but firm obedience training as I have with all my dogs.  I am writing because 4 years ago another akita of mine had a cat in its jaws and my friend was able to apply pressure in certain places in the akitas head which released its grip and the cat was fine.  Is this also the case with a pitt?  If so, I would love to know those spots so this doesn't happen again.  I am not in contact with my friend anymore who had studied martial arts and said he used the same technique as learned to stop blood to the brain (very momentarily) on people.  Please help if you know.
I still love pitts as I always have, I'm just looking for a practical solution for bad situations,
thanks,

This is pure speculation at best, damaging myth at worse. There have been no exhaustive studies conducted to prove that Pit Bulls have the strongest jaws of any breed. There likely could not be any truly conclusive testing done to measure something like strongest breed PSI. A reason for this lies in the fact that dogs bite with varying pressure depending upon the situation, and what factors are driving the bite at that particular point in time. A****

pitt bulls and rottweilers have the strongest jaws because both of their jaws muscles start from the jaw goes behind the ear and on top of the head pit bulls jaws are strong but since a rotweilers head is bigger they have more potent strength in their jaws

Actually YES you can measure the psi on dogs jaws. There was a show about it on I think discovery channel. They put a thing to measure psi in one of those arms they use to train dogs to attack and out of german shepherds, pit bulls, and rottweilers,  rottweilers have the most, and pit bulls have the least.
