when we first moved into a certain neighborhood, my neighbor called the police just because we had two pitbulls. pitbulls were not illegal and the cops laughed it off. two years later he got his own pitbull after he seen how well behaved mine were. The guy is an idiot and let his dog run loose.one night it bit a friend of mine.he wasn't hurt bad and he didn't want to call the police so we let it slide.two weeks later it attacked another neighbor, and was on the local news. my point is maybe the pitbull is better off if everyone doesn't trust it.I know it sucks, but we have enough idiots loving this breed.if you don't think the person would treat this breed like family, i would let them think whatever they want.if it's someone who you would really like to share this great dog with, get them an a.p.b.t. book. my grandpa said he would never come over again after i got a pitbull.over the years he has gained more love and respect for the breed then me almost.only time and education will change minds, but some minds shouldn't be changed.

You should trust it as much as you would any other dog. I'd never let my lab run around free; I certainly wouldn't do it with a pit.

I trust it MORE than any other dog, but if everyone knew it was such a great dog, then more people would buy them, meaning more idiots with them, meaning more bad publicity, meaning it would be harder for people like you and me.PLUS, do you want to see this breed in the hands of more stupid people? I don't!!!so "maybe the pitbull is better off if everyone doesn't trust them"

Pitbulls are wonderful dogs. They are loving and very friendly if they are socialized properly, as all dogs should be.However as already stated any dog, not just pitbulls should be left to run free unsupervised.

iggy, i would find a punch of "pit friendly" sites print all the good ecplicit content about the dog and show it to them. thats wut i did. but only because my next door neighboor'smom threatened to not allow her children to come over if i got a pitt! but only do that if it is something serious, cuase i agree with mad-town, we wouldn't want the apbt to become as popular as the lab!

WHAT I THINK IS PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW HOW BAD PITBULLS ARE BUT THEN AGAIN THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT LOVE PIT BULLS SO MUCH THAT YOU CAN NOT GET PIT BULLS AWAY FROM THEM NOT EVEN THERE OWN FAMILY BUT OTHER  FAMILIES MIGHT I THINK. PLEASE IF YOU ARE A OWNER OF ONE OF THINGS CALLED A PITBULL  PLEASE GET A S.P.C.A PERSON TO PICK IT UP BECAUSE ONE DAY YOU OR ONE OF YOUR KIDS COULD GET BITTEN BY ONE WHEN YOUR NOT LOOKING..BUT IF YOU DONT WANT TO LISTEN ITS OK BECAUSE ITS YOUR LIFE NOT MINE.. PIECE OUT  CRIP WHAT
