i have several old games for dos that i would like to play...

i have several old games for dos that i would like to play on my newer pc and it is a laptop running windows 98 and i am still fluent in DOS my question is can you set the resolution/refresh on a vga monitor to a mga/hercules/cga setting to be able to play and not cause a multi image on the screen and i have "AT Slowdown" for the processor speed already
